Copy Typing
From a handwritten letter to a 150,000 word manuscript, whatever your requirement no job is too big or small. Whether if you are an individual or company, I can use your own templates so the font, layout and margins fit in seamlessly with your business or personal specifications, which are completely editable. There are still, as I've learned over the years, so many of us who gather our thoughts better with a pen and paper! I can convert your handwritten text into a professional, electronic document in accordance to your deadline which looks professional and error free. Likewise, you may wish to make changes to a non editable document, such as PDF files, which can be speedily yet accurately typed into an editable version. Types of documents I've been asked to type in the past include:
Audio Transcription
I am an experienced audio transcriptionist and provide a first class service to my clients. Audio transcription involves the use of a headset and foot pedal to transcribe digital audio files, including MP3, DSS and many more. The beauty with dictating an audio recording is it is quick and simple - all that is needed is you and your voice (or the voices of others if you are recording an interview, for example). There's no need to scramble around for a piece of paper and pen and write rushed notes, you then have the tedious task of typing them up and the risk of missing important conversation. Using my transcription service allows you to spend time on those more important tasks. All you need to do is simply record your notes on your preferred device and send the file to me for a fast turnaround. Rest assured confidentiality is guaranteed. If you are unsure how to record your audio, please do get in touch for advice as this can be easily done on your smart phone.
I am experienced in transcribing Strict Verbatim, Intelligent Verbatim and Edited Transcription. I am more than happy to discuss these terms in more detail with my clients and agree on this according to your requirements, however here is a quick guide:
Strict Verbatim
This type of transcription can overwhelm your less experienced audio typist, however it does not phase me. Strict Verbatim creates a word for word transcription of the audio which includes those common fillers such as 'you know', 'uh', 'umm' and expressions such as laughter. In this situation, the reactions and behaviour of the speaker(s) is just as important as the words spoken. This type of transcription is deemed useful and appropriate for market research, police interviews and court cases, for example.
Intelligent Verbatim
This type of transcription adds a filtering layer to what is being spoken and omits those commonly used fillers and expressions listed above. In this instance, I would edit your document to correct sentences and grammar and any irrelevant words. This type of transcription is appropriate for medical professionals, for example, who should not be seen to be pausing when prescribing medication. It is also appropriate for business reports.
Edited Transcription
This type of transcription provides a full and formalised edited finish, this is useful for those who wish to publish the content into a foreign language or for a professional who requires their content to be produced in a very formal way.

When it comes to letter writing, drafting emails or anything involving a keyboard I'm useless! It's much quicker to call on Lucy who never lets me down
